the art of working ii

Ahhh

life as art, art as life …

I have to accept that taking one’s work as an art (whatever work it is) takes time and maturity (I think), therefore, I might not have been talking about this a few years ago, but let me tell you now that a life without art seems pointless, and no, I’m not talking about painting, sculpture and singing only (people usually confuse this), I’m talking about doing something but doing it in a passionate, loving, artistic way.

the art of working i

I was speaking with a woman who sold insurance, when I started to actually listen to her, to really pay attention to the words she was saying and how much deference to her work she was giving, (it was not like any salesperson and I have met many of them, have received many calls and / or visits until almost midnight, insisting, insisting on selling, but really just insisting, no soul, only sell to sell), she was a passionate woman with what he did. She was a woman who chose the words carefully, one after another, explaining, sharing, teaching, so much so that even though I was not interested in buying insurance, I could not help but listen. The melodious voice and the intent with which she spoke was like a dance, a melodious song to my senses …

We are mere little ants

Sometimes (ie usually) I look up to the sky and feel so very, very small (not happened to you?), As if we spent our lives drawing little paths while doing our routine activities, like ants, as if this was no more than a mere theater and wonder … why do we take life so seriously in this vast immensity? As if we should… ;)

Beautiful encounters

This photograph MOVES my heart.
It had been weeks since we had moved to our new nest and I could see some beautiful neighbours (bird neighbours) but could not get the exact moment to “capture” them (with my camera, I mean) until I discovered that they fly around at a certain moment in the morning. I am not an early bird, but for some reason, those days, I had a rare type of “morning insomnia”, just at the right moment when these beautiful neighbours of mine showed up at the tree by my window… there… for my solace … and… I can hear it singing as I write, and I am thankful :).

You know how it works? Enjoy it in silence

You know how it works for me in regard to my photograhy?

I need to digest it…

Yes, I need to digest the moment I just captured, I need to enjoy it in silence, and then I can share it… if that subtle and joyful moment is not enjoyed in solitude, then it might feel as if that magic image has flewn away too quickly.

So… here… some shots from my trip to India, last February – March 2012.

We stopped at the gas station, I sighed and then I took these shots, the magic of the simplicity of people walking their lives and freezing that _otherwise_ not important moment, made me think of how many times we just walk, wherever we are and do not even realize we are… walking our lives.

When summer met me

You do not know when a new route of art will begin. I had been thinking about an editorial inspired by the 60’s, then Sophy showed up and it happened!

XOXO

I will be back soon!

PS. Happy birthday daddy, wherever in the universe you are… tomorrow.
